The Collins Pine Museum, located on the Collins sawmill site in Chester, California, opened to the public in May 2007. The museum resembles the former Collins Pine Company sawmill, which operated from 1943 to 2001, featuring post and beam construction showcasing local wood species.

Its mission is to educate on lumbering, forestry, and sustainability principles. Exhibits cover lumber grades, forest stands, old photos, and implements, alongside information on conifer identification, saw milling, lumber drying, power co-generation, and the carbon cycle.

The museum features a small theater showing a sustainable forestry documentary upon entry, and a main building screen for a sawmill operation video. Interactive elements include wood species identification and audio units with worker voices.

Additionally, outdoor displays feature trucks and equipment from the 1940s to 60s, with a notable 400-year-old Sugar Pine tree cross-section showcasing American history dating back to the Jamestown colony (1620).
